About Inclusive Towns
…….

Who are we?
…….

We are the Inclusive Towns Project. We are people with a lived experience of disability who advise local businesses on inclusion.

We give practical advice to businesses on work around solutions to the barriers that people with disabilities may face when accessing local businesses, with the aim of creating Inclusive Towns, where people with a disabilities needs are understood and where everyone gets great service.

What do we do?
…….

We chat with businesses about the social and financial benefits of creating more inclusive spaces in the four focus areas of Inclusive Communication, Disability awareness, Physical environment and Inclusive Employment.

Based on our chat we then advise businesses on simple changes they can make – Got a step? – Buy a portable ramp!

Then we list the access and inclusion features of each participating business on this website, so people know where to find businesses with picture menus and accessible loos!

Why we need Inclusive Towns
…….

People with disabilities, like everyone else, purchase goods and services and participate in community life with their family and friends.

If your business is not accessible to these individuals, you could be missing out on a significant proportion of customers.

Inclusive Towns focuses on four key areas
…….

Inclusive Towns aims to create an inclusive community in which people with
disability have the same opportunities and choice as those without.
